How Do I Cook?

I build my recipes on a person’s health needs not on what the recipe calls for. I will start with ingredients that serve a certain condition and create my recipe around it.

I usually don’t use any measures when I prepare my food. The reasons are:

  1. Cooking is science and art and strict measures take the artistic part out of it.
  2. My grandma taught me how to cook and you could never catch hear with a measuring cup or spoon.
  3. Same measures are not appropriate for everyone. E.g. If your blood pressure is high, you should use less salt. Similar situation will apply for diabetic, thyroid or autoimmune conditions.
  4. We all have different taste preferences, I know people who like their food very plain and others who have to spice it up to be able to touch it.
  5. It is the natural authentic way of cooking. No one found recipes’ measures on the cave man’s walls or in the pyramids.

That said, some of my recipes will not include ingredients’ measures. I will give you the ingredients and invite you to use these recipes to practice.

How to use my no measures recipes:

There are two ways to put my recipes to action:

First way: Start playing with the ingredient:

  • Start with something really simple which doesn’t have a lot of ingredients.
  • Use your previous experience with similar recipes
  • When it comes to salt, herbs and spices start with small amount and add as needed. Remember you can always add but you can’t take it out.
  • Taste your creation as you go and don’t be afraid to make adjustments
  • With some training you will become a master in the kitchen in no time. Your dishes will be perfect for you, because you didn’t have to follow someone’s else taste preference
  • If there is enough interest I will gladly post some videos on how to cook without measuring to free yourself from the cups and spoons and transform your cooking from a science class into a pleasurable activity .

Second way: If you don’t like adventure or don’t have the time or the desire to build your skills in mastering cooking without measuring, you can find a similar recipe on line( there are so many of them) and start there.
